Great few days at Dove Cottage

22nd July 2026

I booked the cottage as it looked so cosy, I spent time in Allonby as a kid but wanted to be a bit further out. I was so happy here for the few days I stayed, the cottage had everything I needed and the hosts were so welcoming and happy to help with anything I needed. I would 100% return to Dove Cottage and highly recommend

Fantastic cottage – beautifully decorated, well equipped and dog friendly. Hosts were welcoming and friendly. Beach right on your doorstep with little town short walk away. Other towns nearby – lots to explore. Enclosed garden for the dog which was perfect in the sunshine. A fantastic, relaxed break with family. Highly recommend.

Just returned from a 7 night stay on this great little caravan site, Vera is very helpful and friendly. It was a very windy week and my friends awning got blown down and ripped. Vera helped to get it sorted and repaired very quickly. Can’t thank her enough. I would highly recommend this little site. Great for the beach and the lakes.

Amazing Black Dub cottage

It’s so nice to find a dog friendly cottage that is nice for humans too. Everything is high quality and carefully thought out. The dogs loved the beaches. We are leaving very chilled and wishing we could stay longer. Will definitely be back.

Black Dub Cottage

We stayed for 2 nights in this beautifully set out cottage. Our first impression on arrival was how well kept the site was and the very friendly welcome we received as they showed us to the cottage.

On entering we were pleasantly surprised how well laid out the cottage was, it had a twin bedroom and a master bedroom with a large ensuite shower room, then another bathroom.

We then entered the exccellantly equiped large kitchen area. All the appliancy you could need in a modern kitchen, washing machine/dryer, dish washer, coffe making machine, air fryer, mircowave etc. And everything you would need to use these. Oppossie this was a very comfortable lounge area with a large L shage couch coffee table patio doors on to a small pivate garden.

The L shape Dinning area off the loung had a table which had 4 seats but with a bit of a squeeze could fit 6 the fixtures and fitting where very much in taste with the rest of the cottage

A large tv and wifi available where also in place. A Iog fire was there for winter evenings which with the beautiful views would be very cosy. They even provided dog bowls and beds for any Dogs that are welcome. We will most deffinately be returning and look forward to catching up with Vera and the family as they made us feel like we had known them years.

We keep returning here. Staying on the campsite in our Motorhome. Stunning views and peaceful. Our friends were here in 2 of the cottages which are of exceptional standard with everything you could need for a perfect holiday away from it all. The owners are truly lovely and will look after you.

Fabulous

If you have a caravan or are looking for a dog friendly cottage by the sea, look no further. Just spent 4 nights on this lovely site, with fabulous sea views. We were able to holiday with friends who stayed in one of the cottages. Everything had been thought of, nothing is too much trouble for the family who own and run Old Kiln and there’s lots to do in the area. Buttermere, Aira Waterfalls, St Bees Head, Keswick, Carlisle and Cockermouth all worth a visit… thanks Vera we will be back 10/10 !!

Cross beck cottage

20th February 2026

We have just had a wonderful week staying in Cross beck cottage. We visited the area to celebrate my parents golden wedding anniversary. My mum is not very mobile and the cottage suited her needs perfectly, especially with the walk in wet room. The cottage has everything you could need, it is a real home from home, with the bonus of sea/Mountain View’s! The beds were very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. It is a short walk over the road to the beach. We received a lovely welcome from Phil. We didn’t want to leave, and will definitely be back.
